Reminder - on gym days and once outdoor recess resumes, please ensure that your children are wearing appropriate footwear. For their safety, "footwear, with the exception of croc-style clog shoes, that are not firmly attached to the foot by straps, laces, or zippers are not to be worn. This includes flip flops and athletic sandals. Croc-style clog shoes are permitted to be worn by students" (District Policy 5511 - Dress and Grooming). Students who are not wearing sneakers or croc-style shoes with a heel strap will not be permitted to participate in gym.
On the first Tuesday of every month, Chews participates in "Positivi-TEE Tuesday." Students and staff are encouraged to wear a shirt with a positive message tomorrow - Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026.
In January, 270 students were present every day and arrived on time! Keep up the great work, Cheetahs!
Tomorrow, Friday 1/30, is Spirit Day at Chews! Please wear your Chews gear, school colors, or cheetah print to show your pride!
As a reminder, Friday, January 16th is an early dismissal day. Grades K-5 will be dismissed at 12:50pm, and Preschool at 1:30. School will be closed on Monday, January 19th, in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Day. We hope to see you at Gloucester Township's annual Day of Service Event!
Shoes of any size or style, both new and gently used, are being collected for one of the service projects taking place at GT's annual Martin Luther King Day of Service. If you have any that your children have outgrown or that others in your household no longer need, they can be dropped off at Chews (or any of our school buildings) on Wednesday or Thursday 1/14 or 1/15. We thank you in advance for your contributions to this project and hope to see you at Monday's Day of Service event!

🚨 December 4 FSA Meeting Cancelled 🚨
Hi everyone 😀 We are canceling the general FSA meeting for tonight because the board will be using that time to get the library set up for the Holiday Shop, which starts Friday morning 😀
We still need more volunteers so FSA members, check the sign up genius sent on Nov 20 and help whenever you are available, even if it is not your child's class time!!!! 😀
There are a few changes to note from original times!!! 😀 Some 4th grade classes needed to change times due to their concert rehearsal so note the new times if you are signing up to help with the following classes.:
Miss Leone's class will still be Fri 12/5, but at 940am instead of 842am.
Mrs. McFarland's class will shop Mon 12/8 at 940am instead of 842am.
Ms. Reyes' Wed 12/10 is not rescheduled yet.
Ms. Baki's class will all shop on Fri 12/12 instead of split in half like their usual specials.
Mrs. Dickerson's class will shop Fri 12/5 at 930am.

Both October and November saw 324 Chews Cheetahs who attended every single school day and arrived on time! As we welcome December and the busy holiday season, we appreciate your efforts to avoid taking extra days off around the winter break. Our teachers will be teaching and our students will be learning right up until vacation starts with early dismissal on the 23rd. and the first day back on January 5th.
Every school day matters. When students are healthy and able to attend, it gives them the chance to keep learning, connect with friends, and grow both socially and academically.
